Wagner with the Orquestra de València

On 4 December 2025, Josep Pons returned to conduct the Orquestra de València in a concert at the Palau de la Música de València devoted entirely to the music of Richard Wagner.

The programme featured The Ring Without Words, Lorin Maazel’s symphonic synthesis of Der Ring des Nibelungen. The work brings together some of the most significant moments of Wagner’s monumental tetralogy in a single orchestral score, allowing audiences to experience its principal leitmotifs and dramatic episodes in concert form.

The collaboration with the Orquestra de València provided an opportunity to revisit a repertoire that has occupied a prominent place throughout Josep Pons’s artistic career, particularly within the German symphonic and operatic tradition.
