On Sunday, March 1, the Gran Teatre del Liceu hosted a spectacular concert not only for the quality of the performance, but also for the colossal nature of the score. Maestro Pons conducted the Second Symphony "Resurrection" by Mahler, the Viennese genius who, after Beethoven, returned the supremacy to the symphony.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu's orchestra and its choir, conducted by Conxita Garcia, were complemented by the singers of the Orfeó Català, conducted by Simon Halsey. In addition, the part of mezzosorpano was performed by Karen Cargill and the one of soprano by Chen Reiss.

Josep Pons made an allegorical reading of the score, emphasizing "the rebirth of the Liceu of the ashes", while showing stable bodies in good shape and with great capacity for subtleties. The sound balance reigned for 80 minutes, without excess or excess. The teacher was pleased with the work of all the musicians, and the audience thanked him with a standing ovation.
