On 29 November 2019, Harmonia Mundi released Jeux de Miroirs, a new recording dedicated to Maurice Ravel, bringing together pianist Javier Perianes, the Orchestre de Paris and conductor Josep Pons. The album marked a new collaboration between Pons and Perianes following their previous acclaimed recordings of Spanish repertoire.

The programme explores Ravel’s musical universe by placing the original piano versions of Le Tombeau de Couperin and Alborada del gracioso alongside the composer’s own orchestral versions, culminating in the Piano Concerto in G major. This concept highlights Ravel’s extraordinary ability to transform piano writing into richly coloured orchestral textures.

Leading the Orchestre de Paris, Josep Pons offers performances distinguished by transparency, orchestral refinement and a carefully balanced dialogue with the solo piano, while Javier Perianes brings elegance and poetic sensitivity to the score. The recording received widespread international critical acclaim for its interpretative quality, orchestral precision and outstanding recorded sound.

The album further expanded Josep Pons’s acclaimed discography in the French repertoire while strengthening his artistic partnership with one of Spain’s leading pianists and one of Europe’s foremost orchestras.
