In 2023, Josep Pons became part of the Archivo de Creadores of the Fundación Juan March, a long-term initiative that preserves the testimonies of leading figures in contemporary culture for future generations.
Through an extensive filmed interview, Josep Pons reflects on his musical education, the beginnings of his career, the relationship between music and thought, the role of the conductor and the evolution of the major musical institutions with which he has worked. The recording offers a personal insight into artistic creation, musical interpretation and the challenges of conducting in the twenty-first century.
The Archivo de Creadores brings together outstanding composers, writers, artists, architects, scientists and performers whose work has made a significant contribution to contemporary culture. Josep Pons’s inclusion recognises both his international artistic career and his contribution to musical life.
With this project, the Fundación Juan March preserves not only the record of an outstanding career, but also a unique artistic vision of music, interpretation and cultural commitment.
