Josep Pons takes part in the musical project accompanying the inauguration of the Tower of Jesus at the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, one of the most symbolic milestones in the completion of Antoni Gaudí’s architectural masterpiece.
Directed by Igor Cortadellas, the audiovisual production brings together music, architecture and film to celebrate the completion of the tallest tower of the basilica. The project creates a dialogue between the spiritual character of the building, Gaudí’s architectural vision and the music performed by the Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra and Chorus under the direction of Josep Pons.
Filmed inside the basilica, the production takes advantage of its unique acoustics and extraordinary natural light to create an immersive audiovisual experience. As the camera explores Gaudí’s architectural spaces, the music becomes an essential narrative element, accompanying and enhancing the visual journey.
Josep Pons’s participation reflects his long-standing commitment to large-scale symphonic and choral repertoire and to artistic projects linked with some of Catalonia’s most significant cultural landmarks. The collaboration with the Sagrada Família further strengthens this relationship between heritage, architecture and music.
